Cris Wildermuth – Drake University

 
Cris Wildermuth is the Director of the Masters in Leadership Development program at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. This program is designed for busy working adults.

The challenge

• Since her students are working adults, life happens, kids get sick, cousins get married, and if her students miss just one weekend, they’ve missed a third of contact hours for the program.
• Cris needed to make her program flexible for her students while still complying with the university accreditation body.
• An online learning component was the perfect solution, but the authoring tool needed to be easy to use.

“I’m the only full-time professor in the program […] so it has to be easy. […] I needed something that would be as simple as creating my PowerPoint slides or a Word document.”

The solution

 
Enter Easygenerator.

“The learning curve is very low, it’s very easy. […] If you can create a Word document or a handout, you can create an Easygenerator course.”

“We created this parallel universe on Blackboard, in which the students were taking the courses face-to-face, but if you missed weekend two, for example, there would be a series of online modules made in Easygenerator to help students. (…) It’s going to take you to not only recorded lectures but documents to read, journals to complete.”

One feature that Cris loves about creating content in Easygenerator is how easy it is to update and publish her content. As long as “you have the link, it will always be up to date.” Keeping her content current is vital, as it is across higher education, and complex tools with “all the bells and whistles” made that extremely difficult.

And Cris’s flexible Easygenerator content is working.

“I would attribute our high retention rate to how flexible we make things. If you start, you are going to graduate because we are going to make it possible for you even if there’s a weekend that you can’t come.”

Amber Mellano – Seismic

The challenge

 
Amber Mellano first began using Easygenerator in the Customer Dedication Team at Seismic, a sales enablement solution. She was responsible for training customers on the product but was struggling to share content and resources, due to large files and proprietary material.

The solution

 
“I was skeptical about [Easygenerator] because I was like, […] “is this really going to do the trick?” and every single thing that we wanted to be able to do, we were able to do. Every time we were using [it] we were more impressed by the tool”.

Amber was now able to share all the course materials in one place.
“We were able to share that one link that gets them all the information. Then, we broke it up into different sections (before, during, after the course) to be able to really organize it. I kept picturing a binder that had the little tabs in certain colors, and each section was a tab. It was great.”

The ability to update the course content without having to re-share it was a big bonus for Amber and Seismic. So long as her learners have the link, they have the most up to date materials.

“Without that [feature] we would not have had a single source of truth for all the material in the course. That really helped as a take-away for the students, it helped create a better experience for them.”

By offering this content in Easygenerator, Amber could also benefit from the tracking and tracing features.

“We benefited from knowing that the students had completed, or at least looked at, their prerequisites.”

Amber has now moved to Seismic’s Product Management team, but she already has plans to use Easygenerator in her new position too.

Jeff Wysocki – Walmart

Jeff Wysocki is responsible for training third-party sellers on how to sell effectively on Walmart’s e-commerce platform.

The challenge

• Jeff was struggling with finding a good way to share the training with everyone
• Sellers were raising support tickets when they couldn’t find the information they needed. Each of these tickets can cost Walmart up to $47 to resolve, and with around 100 support tickets coming in every day, they needed a better solution.
• Jeff tried a few authoring tools before he found Easygenerator, but they were complex and just not user-friendly. “It required a tremendous amount of learning on my part.’”

The solution

“What took me literally about four days in Captivate took me about 35 minutes in Easygenerator. What I created in Easygenerator as part of our first MVP (minimum viable product) was not only good-looking, but it worked. Flawlessly […] I was able to create things very quickly, that looked really nice, I can brand them the right way, I can save a lot of settings and trouble on my end. I can keep getting quicker and quicker.”

Instead of opening a support ticket, sellers can now be served the relevant Easygenerator training module, saving the company over $100,000 a month. And it’s a better experience for their sellers, they can get an instant answer to their query.

The tracking and tracing features in Easygenerator also help Walmart see if their sellers are making the effort to improve. Walmart wants to ensure that it only has the best sellers delivering value for money products, and these Easygenerator modules are helping them do this.

Matthew Courtois – Neo-Elite

Matthew Courtois is a trainer at Neo-Elite, an English teacher training school in Shenzen, China.

The challenge

• With 40 locations across southern China, Matthew was spending a lot of time traveling to deliver training sessions which wasn’t sustainable.

The solution

 
With Easygenerator, Matthew can deliver training every week. It’s easy for him to incorporate videos, text, and quiz questions.

“The question types, the video content, I definitely wouldn’t be able to code that by myself. Easygenerator provides these nice formatted questions that you can plug your content into. […] The teachers are more motivated to spend 20 minutes a week learning just because it looks better. The question types are engaging, it’s not just multiple choice.”

Teachers in the small towns can now benefit from the training previously only available in big cities. In turn, those teachers’ students are getting the same English learning opportunities.

In the last year, Neo-Elite’s teacher scores have improved 30-40%, and the kids’ English pass rates have increased by 10-15%. The biggest improvements have been in those small towns.

With the online learning working so well, Matthew now only needs to travel to motivate his learners.

Cheryl Bosworth – De’Longhi

The challenge

• Cheryl Bosworth is a Trainer for De’Longhi in Australia and New Zealand.
• With their previous system, De’Longhi’s pre-training material was basic and content-heavy.
• Cheryl needed a solution that would allow her to easily create and share interactive and enjoyable learning content.

The solution

With Easygenerator, it’s now simple for Cheryl to create and share interactive learning.

The challenge

• Nicole Master is a course coordinator at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia.
• The course has an intake of over 1,000 students across 5 campuses.
• Nicole needed a solution which would allow her to deliver content in an interactive form, while also allowing her to provide students with feedback as they are engaging with the content.

With its drag and drop functionality, it was simple for Nicole to create interactive e-learning content in Easygenerator. And this, in turn, is benefiting her students.
