When I started working at easygenerator e-learning software in December 2010 we defined the mission and vision of our company. In the past 18 months we have learned a lot and it has had its influence on our mission and vision. It is not that our essence has changed; it’s more about finding better words to express ourselves. So here is the update.
When I started working at easygenerator in December 2010 we redefined the mission and vision of our company. 18 months later we have learned a lot and it has had its influence on our mission and vision. It is not that our essence has changed; it’s more about finding better words to express ourselves. So here is the update.
e-Learning Software Trends
As we all know the most important change of the two past decades is the rise of the internet. This completely changed the way we gather information, communicate and learn. This development is strengthened by the rise of all social media and mobile devices we have available today.
This had a big impact on how learners operate. They are used to have all information available within seconds. They expect to be able to learn what they want, where they want, whenever they want and with whom they want. In fact this has led to a complete control shift. Our learning market went from push to pull, from supply to demand. The e-Learning developer is no longer in control: the learner is. And we need to deal with that.
This really poses a challenge for e-Learning developers. The world has changed and we need to adapt. But we do not only need to comply with all these learners demands, we need to do it in a better, more individual and more attractive.
This analysis led to our vision:
E-Learning is changing rapidly. It needs to be effective, interesting and attractive. It should be aimed more at individual needs and integrate learning into the work process. E-Learning needs to make use of all current and ever faster developing technologies.
Our mission will not surprise you:
We want to bring new (and often complex) developments to e-Learning. We want the learner to be able to take the lead. We will make this possible by offering strong didactic templates that make it easy to implement a didactic concept. This way we will innovate e-Learning and lower the threshold for these innovative developments.
e-Learning Software Roadmap
Very often vision and mission statements are just words on paper, with no impact on every day operations. With easygenerator this is not the case. Our vision and mission drives our marketing but above all it drives our product development.
We created a roadmap for easygenerator. Our most important achievement over the past year is the way we implemented ‘Learning objectives‘ in the heart of e-Learning. We created a simple way to measure progress on them and found a way to create individual study advices and learning paths.
And we are moving forward in that direction. Based on this technique we will create a whole new representation of e-Learning courses. It will move away from the book metaphor and will be more like a network like representation of content. This will be in our October release. After that we will focus on case based and scenario based learning. Two great didactical concepts, but they take a lot of work to create and implement. Our March release (2013) will change this dramatically.
Together with our partners and customers we will continue to develop easygenerator along these lines. You can imagine that it is really a privilege to work for such a company.
